Parkland Night Out / Meet Your SRO

We have a fantastic opportunity to engage with our local community, share vital safety information, and showcase what CERT is all about. We are looking for volunteers to staff the CERT Public Education Table during Parkland's upcoming National Night Out celebration.

This family-friendly event brings the community together to meet local School Resource Officers (SROs) ahead of the new school year. The evening will feature emergency vehicle displays from the Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) Parkland and the Coral Springs/Parkland Fire Department, alongside music, food, and various recreational highlights. It is a high-traffic event and a prime opportunity for CERT to make a meaningful public impact through the following roles & activities:

• CERT Advocacy: Speak with residents about the mission of CERT, hand out educational materials, and encourage community members to sign up for upcoming training classes.

• CPR Demonstrations: Teach basic, hands-only CPR techniques to attendees using practice mannikins.

• Engagement: Help manage our booth, answer general safety questions, and represent our team with pride.
