Universal Studios Disaster Drill

We have a great opportunity to take part in an MCI Drill at Universal Studios in Orlando. The drill will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Universal Studios is closing off the New York section of the park to allow us to have the drill in their park. For those that have been around CERT for a while, you’ll know that these opportunities don’t come along too often. If you would like to attend this drill, print out the attached registration packet, fill out the forms completely and send to Rick Caravona with your check. His information is at the bottom of the form. You MUST get the registration forms and check to Rick NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 31st. Due to security at Universal, if you are not pre-registered, you may not be allowed to take part in the drill or be allowed to park in the employee parking lot. You can participate as a victim or as a responder – the cost is the same and you will learn a lot in either role. If you choose to be a victim, be sure and wear OLD CLOTHES that can be torn and stained – and they WILL be torn and stained by our moulage team. If you choose to be a victim, you will need to be at the park at 1900 hours, or 7:00 pm. Responders can begin to enter the park at 1930 hours, or 7:30 pm. You will have a chance to socialize and meet other CERT members from throughout the State. The welcome and introductions begin at 2030 hours, or 8:30 pm. You will also have the briefing at this time. The drill itself will take place from 2100 to 2300 hours, or from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm. All participants must be out of the park no later than 0000 hours, or midnight. There are hotels nearby which offer inexpensive rates. We may even be able to carpool together or split costs of the hotel room. Hope to hear that you will be joining us at Universal Studios!
